There are about 2000 articles on the web right now telling you what you should buy and I’m here to raise that number by 1.
BUT the difference between those 2000 articles and my article is that mine is Sahlt approved. Which is great news for you because I won’t sit here in my local Starbucks and make grand(e) requests from your wallet or you! I am a firm believer in buying less and choosing well. Should you invest in a luxury piece which is transitional for all four seasons? FUCK YEAH.
But should you be dripping in brands? no.
I believe that spring is a hyped up season because it sets the tone for everyones FAVOURITE season, summer. Most people can’t be bothered with F/W collections because regardless of what they’re wearing in winter, every ensemble will be paired with a side of bitching about how cold it is. So listen to Sahlt, and look FAB without going broke this spring season.
If you don’t already own a trench coat then please do so. A good quality, structured, camel trench coat is the very core of a successful wardrobe. I particularly love this one for a couple of reasons: 1) the length, 2) the camel tone, 3) the trench details, 4) the weight, and 5) the price.
Made by Wilfred, this coat is the best piece and price for those of us who don’t want to shell out $3000+ on a Burberry coat.
The Romantic Blouse
It’s so important to have those simple, understated and yet romantic pieces in our wardrobes. THIS gem of a blouse is just that. It’s part of the new collection from H&M called “BOHO BLOOMS”.
Featuring a faux linen feel, this top encompasses all the hottest trends of the season- statement sleeves, minimalistic colour palette, a culture-centric swanky feel (in this case, Spanish). The blouse also comes in black and is currently on sale for $20 from $40!
Almost as important as having your staple jeans, a bodysuit is the answer to most of your sartorial questions. whatever the bottom, a bodysuit is always the best piece to elongate your frame. It also allows you to exude a minimalistic, elegant feel. A good quality bodysuit will hold everything in place and be your best friend. Zara has done a pretty great job with their bodysuits as of late and this piece is no exception.
Structured, woven, wooden bags are having a serious moment and add a “Provence’ feel to your entire look even if you’re head to toe in grey sweats (à la Vancouver). The whole summer market look is going to be massive this spring so by adding this classically detailed bag to your armoire. This little bag can be found on the Zara website.
A dressier, feminine option than your favourite jeans because sometimes wearing “jeans with a nice top” just isn’t enough. Pair the aforementioned bodysuit with these and complete your outfit with a pair of glitzy earrings and the aforementioned Zara cane bag for your next spring party! Get these at Forever 21.
